ipod transfering to new laptop

    Long story short ive moved country living in england (for now) got a new laptop want to update ipod without loosing all the songs on it. old laptop is in ireland was girlfriends brothers. any one have any idea what i could do?

    I assume by "update", you mean that you want to sync it with the new laptop rather than update the firmware or something? If that's the case, don't do anything in iTunes, until you've pulled all the music off the iPod first and on to the PC. You can do this with various programs - if you're on Windows, give SharePod a try:

    Once you have all the music safely back on your laptop, sync the iPod with the iTunes library on that system and you're good to go. BTW, if you check the option to manually manage music in the iPod settings tab in iTunes, you will be able to add music from different libraries without erasing what's already on the iPod (this does not work with the iPhone and I'm not sure if it works with the iPod Touch).
