Just planning on heading down to the country with my girlfriend of 2 years for our anniversary this weekend. We cant head somewhere to far from Dublin because shes in work early on Sunday. Just wondering does anybody have any good affordable suggestions as to a nice hotel with are decent nightlife in surrounding area hopefully with something to do during our Saturday day time too? Any help, info or tips will be greatly appreciated.

    How about Kilkenny?
Not sure of the accomodation situation there, but you could mooch around the castle/town during the day to keep yisserselves busy?

how about the Woodenbridge Hotel near Arklow? You could go to the Meeting of the Waters, have a nice lunch in the pub there, perhaps ecen go to Glendalough for a stroll. Its so beautiful there.

Oops, just noticed you wanted a good nightlife, the woods and rivers may not be the way to go!!

    Sorry

I second kilkenny. Nice town with loads of nice restaurants. We stayed in river court hotel, right opposite the castle & have stayed in new park too ( but thats further out). Hotel is just up the road from langtons which is good for dinner & has a nightclub too.
