Article below from today's Irish Independent (http://www.independent.ie/education/latest-news/more-than-8364100000-in-scholarships-on-offer-1465299.html).

Seems Independent Colleges are offering a number of scholarships and bursaries.

They are new, linked to the Irish Independent, and I don't know much more about them. There is not much information on accreditation provided on their site either.

The scholarships and bursaries could be worth checking out though.

More than €100,000 in scholarships on offer

    Friday August 29 2008

MORE than €100,000 in scholarships and bursaries are being offered for the 2008/9 academic year by Independent Colleges, Dublin, which has announced that five full scholarships and a number of bursaries will be available.

BA scholarships in journalism, law and psychotherapy, valued at around €58,000 for tuition on the degree programmes, will be awarded on the basis of academic merit, but priority may be given to cases of financial need.

The MA scholarships, in law and psychotherapy, valued at €20,000, will be awarded on the basis of merit. A panel, composed of the college's faculty and board members, will select the successful candidates.

Philip Burke, chief operating officer Independent Colleges, Dublin, said they were delighted to encourage students to reach their full potential, both academically and professionally.

To be eligible, applicants must provide academic documentation, a letter of recommendation and examples of written work. Students should contact admissions(at)independentcolleges.ie for a form. The closing date for BA applications is September 12, and October 1 for MA.
