Meal replacement bars/shakes

Got a bit of a hectic schedule coming up soon and was looking for some ideas for meal replacements in the form of a shake or a bar. What's the best out there to get? I'd normally bring my own lunch but it won't work this time.

    Thanks.

Suggest a shake made with a scoop of whey powder, a tablespoon of peanut butter or flaxmeal and ice water. Some frozen fruit is optional but tasty.

Most of the bars seem to have a lot of sugar alcohols or sugar in them, both of which are a waste of calories, and the SA can give you smelly farts, a belly ache and a serious case of the runs.

A tub of cottage cheese is a handy emergency meal that you can buy in any grocery or supermarket. Carry a couple of packet of nuts or seeds as well. Raw almonds make a great quick meal. An avocado is good too. Hard boiled eggs don't smell until you shell them, so you can carry them easily. Tins of salmon or mackerel or sardines are good. Buy a bag of washed salad and you are good to go.

I'm on the road a bit between appointments and find that the best thing to do is plan ahead. I feel 100% better if I have a meal I prepared that morning instead of hitting a deli.

It might have inspired some slightly anti-feminist-yet-intimidating-to-men parties in the 1980s, but believe it or not, Tupperware is your friend.

Eileen - That shake a little low on carbs? Not that it really matters, sounds nice enough but I won't have the ice cold water with me. Will most likely be luke warm! Would not be able to do a tub of cottage cheese on its own, haha. Nuts suggestion is good so I'll definitely bring along a few of them.

Not getting the 1980s thing there Roper:D

Lately for breakfast I have frozen fruit, I leave it in a mini blender tub to defrost for a few mins. Then add some whey, maybe oats, and coconut flour (you get it in asian shops), milk or water. Then liquidise it all up, the fruit makes it ice cold. This could be put in a thermos to keep cold for later.
