what is the best brown at home hair dye..
want something kind of chocolately and really rich / shiny (hairs in bad enough condition)..

I'd love to know too. I've dyed my hair a few times in the last month, but I can't find a colour I like. I used Loreal's ultra lightening brown (after using a Clairol chocolate that was too dark), my hair turned out red, but I liked it. It faded very fast though and my blonde started coming through, I dyed it again but I had the same problem. I'm looking for a brown that's rich and warm without being too dark. I think dyed brown can sometimes look very flat and almost wiggy IYKWIM??

Boots botanics semi permanent in bitter chocolate is good its a v dark brown

loreal castings in chocolate is brilliant ot sthe one out of the add with penelope cruz turns out a lovely colour and gives good shine!

there used to be a viva live semi colour in hot chocolate that was my favourite but sadly thats discontinued now I cant find it anywhere

John Frieda colours glaze in chocolate & expresso is also v good
