    My invention (if it ever sees the light of day);

An M60VN with obscenely long, fat silencer (No Country for old men style), the worlds largest sniper scope, a bayonet, and an M203.

    For fun.

I built a smoke grenade once (that keeps within the law)

It was a metal holder which had an inner section which slid out. The inner section was in the shape of 3 fins which you would put smoke pellets into. You then slide this back into the outer case, light the smoke pellets and throw.

It works...sorta... might be good for indoor/cqb, but never really practical for outdoor use and doesn't compare at all to the smoke grenades which can be used at sites up the north.

Hehe. I was about to create a new Airsoft Invention thread also (well as soon as I spoke with a mod).

I'd also love to see one of those tornado grenades launched into the air with a paracute and deploy automatically when it gets to about 10 feet from the ground. Much much greater coverage.

I'd also love to see a bouncy betty airsoft mine. They pop out of the ground after you stand on them and disperse across the 360 degree horizontal plane.

Remote sentry guns. I've been wondering how to do it, and I know a man who could make such a thing... It would be damn handy.

A related item is remote cameras. But I guess that technology already exists, I just need to beat on Ebay a bit more instead of working...

    There's motion sensing paintball ones.
You can upgrade them with all sort of mad carry on, you can make them turn off when hit and stuff of the alike.

Decent spelling might be nice, too.

I'm thinking a gun with multiple barrels, would kinda look like when the Mask (the Jim Carrey movie) pulls out a load, but instead of little flags, just loadsa pellets! :)

Or, another multiple barreler, a sort of one size does all, with a shotgun muzzle (10 or so pellets a go), a spreader (like a flattened funnel, shoots in an arc, great for group hits!), a long barrel in the centre with scope (long range shooter), a four-barrel combo, and a pistol on top.

I'd really have to draw it :)

Or, best of all, one of these:

I would like to see armoured vehicles that fire bags of BBs.

I'd also like to see an airsoft version of the assault rifle from Halo.

A non-whinging airsoft player, that doesn't know how to use a discussion forum.

Admittedly, it's a long-shot. Let me have another look at that self-propelled anti-gravity AEG gun pod, I'm sure I could get that working...

Did any of ya see top gear, the paint ball tank? basically is was like a bobcat modified with a barrel to fire paint balls, now thats cool

comfortable eye-wear that gurantees not to fog.

Upon receiving a BB hit, the player receives a mild vibration and a light goes off, indicating they were hit.

Pistols that shoot out through your shirt, into oyur hand, if youve ever seen equilibrium you would know.

Armoured vehicles designed for airsoft, not armoured..but have a look of armoured vehicles, but are petrol friendly so they can be used without bankrupting you

a fully interactive fully working "city site" complete with buildings, underground routes, rooftops and streets.

Seen one of these in america and they look the business, a decent sized town/city purely for airsoft.

That's right, because if you had opaque ones then you'd be blind, and the other players wouldn't be able to see you.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,287 ✭✭✭kevteljeur

Actually, a full-on combat exoskeleton would be the thing. Kill-houses? Just throw them out of the way! You'd have to have a shoulder-mounted minigun for that - all still under 1J, of course, and about 20k rounds stored in autoloaders.

Of course, 1J is fairly irrelevant when you're trashing the place with your 3 metre tall combat walker. You wouldn't be hanging around to call hits on that thing.

I shouldn't even need to clarify why that video is inappropriate.

    Possibly shot on public road.
Makes direct threat against a particular organisation.
    Concealed airsoft devices in public.

sorry lad i didnt think it was inappropriate, appologies.
it definitely wasnt shot on a public road, or anywhere near where anyone would see, its his drive-way, i forgot about the iaa thing in the video, for the record i dont agree with his stance on it but thats his business.
    sorry for any offece caused.

its a cool auld yoke all the same though.

Hardly an invention, but worth a mention.

The zoxna grenade is cool, but i reckon it'd be more effective if they made it completly spherical, as opposed to being a cylinder.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,159 ✭✭✭daz801

an airsoft bomb that holds ONE MILLION BB'S that we could drop out of a plane!!!!!!!! now that would be fun

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,673 ✭✭✭✭senordingdong

    Funny you should mention that...

Why's what funny that I should mention it?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 371 ✭✭plastic_axe

along the lines of several things that have been mentioned...

go-karts + fibre-glass armour shells in the shape of various military vehicles + mounts for aegs

Not as ambitious as everyone else but how bout a GPMG/SAW SF i.e tripod and trigger where the stock normally is could be great for bunker defenses, or even better how about an AEG that doesn't break down or is as tough as its real steel counterpart.

The key word in KD's post was "possibly", and grass doesnt mean anything, it

could be on the verge of a road, we have to be stiff or else airsoft will be

stiff when its banned and put in a grave to rot, think of

the implications of that videomakers idiocy, then you'll understand kd's post. he was incredible

stupid to do what he did and borders on reckless, what use is the item he made and also the

purpose of a threat against a certain organisation?

You've already been warned about your conduct on here.

    Banned for a week.

Now forget about the video lads and just get back on topic before the thread is closed.

as i have already confirmed this as shot on private land, well out of sight of any one and in a controlled and safe environment.
while i dont condone the iaa stance, i dont think that it was stupid or reckless in any way. also i dont think that it will get the sport banned either.

it was a simple demonstration of an invention that he made, no laws were broken in the filming of the video so i dont see the problem, but it was removed as it was deemed inappropriate, which is fair enough, it may not be to everyones taste.

as for what use the item is, he told me that he hasnt taken it to a meeting yet where it hasnt left an impression on the board.

but seriously what use is any item of airsoft....?
amusement is really what it boils down to.
i was just injecting a little bit of realism into a mostly fantasy-based thread.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,984 ✭✭✭NakedDex

    Realism? <guffaw>

Anyway, I do seriously want some better launchers in airsoft. The technology is there so it's not a big ask. We currently have a good RPG7 and a crap LAW, alongside a handful of underslung grenade launchers. Given how many models that could be made, that's a bit of a crap choice. The M79 and the MGL are the only representations of innovation in launchers. Would be too much to ask for an AT4, Archer or even a Stinger (which is just an aluminium pipe and a box anyway)?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,414 ✭✭✭kdouglas

On-topic please gentlemen, said video is gone, no need to mention anything more about it.

when i was at salute i got talking to a bloke on a stall he had decomissioned rocket launchers the Laws rocket was one, really cool if one of those could be adapted for airsoft or maybe it has already, has it?
