This has been done to death here to be honest mcwhirter. From what I can gather from the other threads leaving fogs on comes down to a few things.

    • Inexperience
    • Looks cool
    • More chance of other drivers seeing the car :)
    • Coming out of fog and forgetting to turn them off
    • People think they are spot lights :)
    • People genuinely just don't know what they are and leave them on.

Front fogs are designed to be used in fog to aim a beam very low under the fog with a large spread.
Why do some drivers use them with the side lights, it doesn't make sense and is very ignorant.

They are trying to look .

But really look like and most likely are complete twits.

just put your full beams on so you blind them back.

Most "fog lights" fitted to cars here ARE spot/aux lights as opposed to actual fog.

Most of the people I know that do this are over 50 btw before we get into the "looks cool" argument

See? Some people think fog lights aren't actually fog lights!

Its to tell you that they need more light so you can drive with your full lights on behind them.

So you see them and it looks like it works. I wouldn't think they give a seconds thought to your puzzled expression when driving by. :pac:

Fog lights are illegal to use under any conditions other than foggy ones , because there are too many moths driving cars nowadays......

To a pointless thread which the thread starter should have known has been done to death. You need to learn to use the search function. It's really not that difficult.

    Drive safely! :)

Really? Where did you see that survey? Boars.ie user RHCP isn't over 50 and he drives with fogs on as witnessed in this discussion:

    See offending photos

    See query on fogs
Also do you actually drive with your fog lights on? When its not foggy?
    A follow-up comment to query
Fogs are a pain in the ass! You know why there called fog lights ye? The beam of the light isn't directed like headlights so most of the time they blind oncoming drivers.

I don't mean to sound bitc*y but it is annoying...

    See answer
    Sometimes ya.

So you see, some people do think it's cool to drive with their fogs on, you only have to look at the photos of that Golf RHCP owns to see this

Most sensible response on the whole issue.

There will always be people who drive with their spots/aux/fog lights on....build a bridge and drive over it FFS
