Laptop power issue

I have a Dell 630M here and it won't start up.
The issue appears to be with the power to the laptop. As soon as I connect a charger to the laptop the green light on the charger goes off and does not charge the laptop. I've tried this with 3 different chargers and have also tried it with the battery removed. I don't have any spare batteries for this model lying around here so I can't try it with a new fully charged battery in place.

Anybody ever come across anything similar before?

It sounds like an issue with the connection between the laptop and the power supply. (It happens, i have the same problem with one of my laptops:o). I take it the machine doesn't have an extended warrenty?

Don't think so. Just got it handed up to me to take a look at.

I find it odd that as soon as the ac power supply is connect to the back of the laptop, the green led on the AC adaptor switches off. Could it be a problem with the power socket within the laptop?

u have to check if its working on battery. It could be burnt any MOFSET, capacitor, fuse, etc on mobo probably in power module. If u can disassamble ur buck and check ur mobo for any burnt or leak from capacitors

Your one took the laptop away again that evening and I had asked her to try it with just a fully charged battery but I never heard back from her, so not sure what she did with it.
