So our betters at the EU are warning of a population explosion in this country. I see only the English Times newspaper touches on the real issue. Immigration will cause the explosion. If not for immigration, the population of western europe would be dropping like a stone.

Once again they great the problem and then cause a load of drama.

    What a joke.

Is an increase in population a problem? How's it a problem?
Is it not more a problem of an ageing society? or the lack of amenities/infrastructure/etc to support the increase in population? or do you just have a problem with immigints?

No problem at all with immigrants, and no problem with old people either.

I am just pointing out that they caused what they are now highlighting as a problem.

Ah, so they're a terrorist population. By they, I mean we. Oh dear. *adopts the Lemming pose* Goodbye.

    * Please note that "they" can mean anybody and everybody or nobody depending on the absurd use.
** Please note that actual explosion may not occur. Sorry, but normal service resumes...

Start a thread going on about how something is "ridiculous" in such a manner that everyone else is gonna agree with you (when you know they won't). How interesting.

Sure according to the International Herald Tribune, population deaths will overtake population births in 7 years time. I think that's more of an implosion, then explosion.

According to the daily herald express the majority of people who read newspapers today wont be alive in 2060 and that by then green house gases will be running the planet from inside a nuclear fallout shelter inside siberia

Might I need to remind opposers of the whole foreign people coming to Ireland scenario - when Ireland had difficult times during the famine people left the country to go to America and Aussie, etc, etc, etc..

So why do people complain about people coming into Ireland? They're coming here because their countries can't offer them a good lifestyle. Just like Ireland couldn't offer the Irish a suitable lifestyle during the famine.

If you ask me it's abit hypocritical.

If you ask me you statement is pointless. The people in Ireland are most likely descendant from people that didn't emigrate so they don't owe anyone anything for accepting other people.

The Irish American's etc... should be very accepting of immigrants to the countries they now reside in since they are themselves immigrants or their parents were. Go say that to the guys in Boston and New York and see how well the logic goes down.

I have no problem with immigrants, I do have a problem with the we owe it to other countries to welcome immigrants. No we don't but that isn't a reason not to let them come here either. If there economies pick up and ours go to sh*t, they won't welcome us with open arms if it doesn't suit them economically just so you know in advance.
