Girlys just wondering where you all shop for undies and what you find good about them? I got some agent provocateur stuff in the sale and its beautiful but way too pricey normally. Other brands i love are lejaby and vannina vesperini but of course mixed in with pennys. Usually pennys is every day and the nicer undies for a pick me up. My size has changed recently so i'm on the lookout for recommended places

Is that meant to mean it belongs in the fashion forum? I didn't think so as i'm not talking about whats fashionable just looking for womens opinions on where to get good underwear between comfort sizes style and value at the moment

Em maybe check if La Senza still have their sale on? I normally get stuff there. I've gotten bras in dunnes for 2e or less also.

Good value! Were they alright? I've gotten a few pieces in la senza that were unwearable after a couple of washes.

It's about where to by what clothes and what clothes you like to buy so it's a Fashion And Appearance thread.

I just bought loads of nice things from La Senza. Also try TK Max...

If the mods feel its better placed in fashion and appearance then i'll be ok with that, what i'm trying to explain is i was hoping for a womans opinion on personal womens garments not general fashion/appearance or clothes.

They were grand like, not exactly dead sexy or anything! I handwash all my bras so they don't lose their shape so much.

Sorry about that, I just can't resist a sound effect. :)

Sorry but that's just hilarious :pac: nearly spat water all over my keyboard!

    Anyway........

I usually go M&S cos I'm a bigger size and I tend to find nice well-fitting stuff there. Intend to investigate Bramora soon :D Have been in to the department stores but for a decent branded bra in my size it's like sixty quid or something  and I can't afford that most of the time.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,181 ✭✭✭LolaDub

I picked up one nice thing yesterday in m&s but they didn't have my size in a few others. I asked the girl about where she'd recommend but for my size she said probably just brown thomas which i think is probably a bit expensive! I didn't think my size was uncommon but maybe its just popular.

LDG good idea to handwash, i only really do it on certain fabrics but prob a good idea to do it to all of my bras!

I usually go to Penneys to be honest. They're cheap and fairly comfortable. Whenever I can afford it or it's the boyfriend's birthday I'd get something in Ann Summers.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 328 ✭✭Fletch123

For knickers I go to Penneys. They have nice ones and also basics.

Underwear I'll go wherever stocks my size. Penneys and Dunnes don't do it so it means I'm lucky if I can get a M&S bra for 20euro..

You might have to go to BT's, but depends where you are. They selection in Galway BT's for underwear is very poor IMO. Debenhams have lots of good ranges. The Jasper Conran range is very pretty and do lots of sizes. And their strapless bra is excellant!

I generally don't like moving threads once they have gone past the second page but I am deleting the faps after infraction/warnings given. This should move it back to only 1 page so I can throw this thread over to the other original intended FAP to where it's more suited.

Thanks Windsock. Sorry to put you through the bother but i did think it was more suited to this forum originally.

I find it impossible to get strapless bras that do the job for a night out. I usually end up with a sore back the next day or it would keep falling down. We all know that grab the bra look down your top and wiggle back into it-its not pretty!!! Was in bts in dublin and the stuff is ridculously expensive, found a plain black bra for 77 euro and the briefs 40 euro!!! i like matching undies i admit but i wouldn't be too upset if i had to go non matching if they were good and decent value

You need a 'Ballet' brand strapless bra.
    They are wonderfull.
I call them my anti gravity bras.

I have to say I got a great strapless bra in Debenhams a couple of years ago. It really stays in place and keeps things in place. They're good for the bigger sizes too. I have also become a big fan of Tesco underwear....they do the bigger sizes in nice stuff and you can get the matching pieces too.....and at a nice price :) It's nice to be able to get something nice without wondering if I can afford it or really need it. I have been lucky in TK Maxx the odd time, but it is really hit and miss....more miss normally. M&S is good too, but don't get there very often.

I'm not that big-a 34d but i just can't find my size in reasonably priced (ie less than 60euro for a bra) nice underwear that does the job. I found some lovely things in marks but all sold out of my size. The only strapless bra thats actually stayed up all night was an e cup but there was a little room in it, maybe i'm between cup sizes or something. Thanks for replies

Loladub - M&S will order in bra's in specific sizes for you.

Thanks Eth0!!! Surprised they didn't tell me that-will get on the blower tomorrow. Any other places people find nice underwear?

A 34d is very similar in size to a 36c, or a 32e. Its always worth trying these sizes if the shop doesn't have 34d in stock.

I lived with a girl in college who was a 34d also, and she too found it difficult to find decent bras; she always found Gossard good as I remember.

I dont know why its such a hard size to source!!

Neither do i! I thought it was quite a common size. I tried a 36c in a few, not as comfortable but its no harm to try a few sizes on brands, they always seem to differ a bit

I'm mega peeved at the min, bought some undies in the agent provocateur online sale about a month ago-veronica suspender belt, bra and thong but only received the suspender belt, they only sent out the suspender belt and when i checked online it said bra and thong were out of stock but they'd be n on the 9th of Sept and sent to me then. Now i've received an email saying they can't get them back and if i want a refund to send the suspender belt back? I think its really bad form, has it happened to anyone else?

Sorry to hear that Lola :(

Meant to say earlier in this thread that Myla in Kildare Village do nice underwear in size 34d/DD/E and same in 32 sizes, it's also available in BT's but it's very expensive in BT's.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,181 ✭✭✭LolaDub

    Sweet cheers.

i'm raging about agent provocateur, they charged me for it and it was still for sale for a good while after i put my order through and then they have none? I found a thread on aus vogue with loads of people saying the same thing but nobody seems to have gotten any satisfaction from them. Emailed the three times and got no reply.

Cheers for the suggestions, i've found a few nice bits around, just by going into every store i could find! Can't believe how hard it is to get nice undies for an ok price

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,469 ✭✭✭Pythia

I got my size (32d) in Next. Surprised to find it in there. I get almost all my stuff in Marks as my size is hard enough to find.

Did you get the agent provocateur stuff sorted?

Le Senza mostly... Pennys are good for g-strings but I HATE their bras.. they look lovely on the rack (no pun intented) but when I put them on they fit terribly...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,626 ✭✭✭Stargal

I went to TopShop recently and found some gorgeous underwear there. Usually just go to Marks for bras (but it's been a bit boring lately) and La Senza for knickers.

Anyone know of a La Senza in Limerick? I'm missing it like crazy!!! They've got the best undies and jammies EVER.

Penny's/Dunnes is no good for me as they don't stock my size on top and I just think their (Pennys) undies/jammies and clothes in general are badly made and of bad quality.

The fuppin baxtards. Maybe you are just better of waiting for them to get the other stuff back into stock.
