Howdy partners! I'm absolutely clueless when it comes to pc/laptop specs and such. What I was originally after was a second hand Dell XPS desktop, but there doesn't seem to be many floatin around 2nd hand. So I've resorted to the idea of a laptop as there are plenty! Now Its worth knowing the reason I want one is cause my good old reliable Viao of 5 years has kicked the bucket, so to speak. The reason I was gonna go for XPS is because I hear its pretty much a good all round powerful performer. As long as I can install XP on it that is! :P

    So here's the story,

Budget: around €800 - €1000 if its a good deal

Intended use: Home recording, some light gaming and the usual stuff (web browsing, downloading etc. etc.)

Mobility: Neh, had a laptop for around 5 years, used it outside the house 3 times I think.

    Warranty: Not important.

So any advice for a n00b all you computer genious' out there? :pac:
