I reckon he was bored. The Zoo is really at fault for not giving him enough to do. I mean if they hadn't left Erick idle maybe he wouldn't have let the python out.

Jaysus. A 29 year old student? And you expected him to be intelligent? That guy was probably so high he was trying to smoke that snake. When he finally got the 1327 skins put together, that was probably when it seemed like a good idea to just tire the snake out before clubbing him and smoking him with the magic dragon that has accompanied him on his right shoulder since 3rd year.
His mistake was not using a waterpipe I reckon. That would have gotten a much nicer burn.
