Just wondering if anyone else noticed.

There was a documentary on John Duddy playing from 12 - 12.30 afaik. I got out of the car, and came back at about 12.40, only to hear the same documentary being played. Sounded like someone just hit repeat, which to me is a pretty big guff seeing as it was midday like.

But if no one else noticed it then I guess no harm done :o

I know Eamon Keane is away, but I think that documentaries were a bit of an odd choice for the midday slot. Yesterday Henry McKeen was talking about the horse show in Ballinasloe

They are repeats, I tuned to Newstalk at 12.35 and heard John Keogh standing in for The Bold Eamon Keane.

I see, but it actually sounded like the same documentary was being played back to back, which was strange. Ach well

I dunno, I was moving around and making lunch so I wsn't paying that much attention, maybe it went SNAFU and I never noticed.

I presume they are filling time before the news all singing all dancing schedule starts on Sept 1st.

On another newstalk note, what's the story with their overnight repeats? Are they gone? For the past couple of nights I've heard them streaming MPR News or something like that from the states

Its the Democratic National Convention in the States..... much more interesting than 6 hours of repeats.

When Newstalk was launched, some hoped thet it would be Irelands answer to Radio Five!

    no chance

No it is better than Five Live! Honestly Five Live has really gone down the tubes lately. Newstalks new line up looks good, especially after Barry and Power have been shifted.

They both gone from Newstalk then?

Yep, the lunchtime show has been stretched to 2 hours. John Keogh was on air when I flicked over at 12.20ish. So that means two hours of Eamon Keane as a rule which is not such a happy thought.

Also I believe some of those documentaries are Sound and Vision funded. Which has a requirement that they are played in a prime time slot.

But no excuse for playing it twice.
