There are 57,000,000 posts according to the post id, though I've no idea if numbering started at 30,000,000 or something.

Does that post count include private forums or just public ones. It also probably doesn't include soft-deleted ones (obviously).

The title reminded me of the thread a while back when the most post per user stats got fcuked up and some random newbie got some colossal amount of posts. People found her bebo and left her comments and all. :pac:

I've no idea TBH, I just noticed it while looking for something else. I suspect that the 57m includes every entry in the database including Pms, deleted posts and posts in certain selected forums.

When you do a DB import (as may have been done with UBB), it makes sense to start your auto incremented PK at a higher number so there are no clashes.

It's more likely though what Hagar mentions and that things like PMs, announcement and so forth are considered "posts" by the system.

I was trying to use the Vbulletin post count to work backwards... Your post there was number 57070252 for instance. but that also includes PMs now that I think of it.. so it would throw things off.

ah yes, i went looking through the code for something like that. victor got pretty close i reckon using the same idea with those figures, but i don't know how you get from fifty seven million+ to finding the ten millionth post
