I still have trouble getting eircom email

    Even after changing the server to webmail.eircom.net I still have trouble getting email thru OE and Windows Mail. Anyone else

    Me too....it was grand the other day when they changed over I changed the correct webmail.eircom thing and now today it asks me for my password and user name even though I'm putting them in correctly??

    Eircom support is rubbish they never get back to you.

    my problem is sending eircom emails. Sometimes I try to send an email & it might take a day or days before it is sent.

    I am having the same problem even if i use the webmail to login i get an error page

    I find that eircom email os very bad for spam. I get around 50 spam emails a day and it is just un-useable. I have created a new gmail account. I have been registering for a few things online but my brother have never given his email address online and he also get a lot of spam!

    Did you get any joy with this? I can get mail to download into outlook but fails when it tries to send my test email. I changed the incoming and outgoing mail server to the new webmail one, but is it possible the outgoing is different?

    Pulling my hair out here!

    try change your server to mail2.eircom.net or mail1.eircom.net.

    gillcarr is your email address with eircom or some other provider i know eiorcom will not allow you send email unless it is an eircom account

    Hi there. The email is with eircom but we use outlook as a diary and address system as well as email, but neither outlook express nor outlook will accept the new settings, as I said, mail comes in but you cannot get it to send.

    Eircom mail is one of the worst mail servers around.
    Its always crashing/non-responsive/non-filtering spam/etc.

    As soon as ye can, move to another mail service.

    By the way "mail2.eircom.net" and "mail1.eircom.net" are no longer being used.
    They are trying to change their systems due to internal problems.
    its now "webmail.eircom.net" or nothing else for most.

    I tried webmail. & it didn't work so I had to go back to mail1.
    Anyway this problem is started around 2 years for me. In the end I had to go & make a gmail account. So I still have eircom & indigo addresses. I will receive no problem but when I send I send through gmail.
