    A bow you've never used,
A draw weight double what your used to,
And Forgetting to put on an armguard??

Are you sure that wasn't from the beers the other night?

    Ouch.
Mind you, I beat the carp out of my arm in the first week and complained the armguard was too small, so I got given the biggest one we had (the Gompy long guard?). The thing covers my arm from wrist up past the elbow.

And I still managed to beat the sardines out of my arm for the following two weeks...
    :D

Happily, it's not so bad now, but I got to shoot a Hoyt GM last night that was set for about 38lb or so, and just from the sound of the thing, I'm now off wondering how much it would cost to get the arm off of a set of plate mail armour :D

I put one of those gompy arm guards on right after "The Incident" (amid much laughter from the guy I was shooting with I might add :D) definitely going to pick one of those up.

Personally I think he set me up, I use his bow and leave with an arm that looks like a truck ran over it and two broken arrows while he spends the day putting 9 arrows into 3 inch groups :D

Jesus guys, learn to align the bow-half of your body.. I use a Beiter arm guard, mostly through habit; haven't hit my arm in years, even on the wild shots... A properly stabilized bow will do wonders as well.

I have an arm that sticks out and if I forget to turn it in..... *BAM*

Is it as painful as it looks?

Stung for a few minutes after it happened but thankfully its not really sore at all. Although now that the bruise has come through fully it actually looks a lot worse than that photo :D
