My wife was holding my camera case with my 6 month old Canon 450D in after we got out of the car while I was getting the bags. I had my back turned and heard a horrible sound. CRASH. Straight on to the concrete she was standing on.

I tested it later and it appeared OK on the outside and I took a quick pic with it which seemed OK, but then I took another later on which didn't come out as expected, the background was fine but the subject was very dark even when the flash worked. I'll have to do some more pics soon.

Do you have the camera insured? Even if you just have household contents insurance, it might be covered under that. So, it might not be that bad in the end - you may get a new camera/lens out of it all. :D

Just a quick hint from a friend who is in the Police.

They do look under the new Patio when they are looking for a body.

How did it fall? Was it on to the Lens or Body? Try a few more shots to test if it really does have a problem & it wasn't just one bad image. Then if it is faulty see if it's in the Body or the Lens.

Hopefully the case took the worst of the damage!

Jees what kind of case was it in? I've dropped my gear loads without damage, but it's all kept in sturdy bags and cases.

Dont panic, just use your wife as a replacement camera.

Look at the work of Lindsay Seers
