Care to post links to them so I can see them? Don't worry I'm not going to copy them. I just need an idea of the general layout of a photographers site.

I'm interested in setting one up with clikpic.com, anyone have any experience with them?

There are plenty of threads here about websites, building websites, etc. Even some dealing with clickpic.

Do a quick search, and you should find them with ease.

mine is at www.AAAphotos.org but it's bad need of a revamp and an update.

so my advice is make a website you can easily update and change as your needs do

I've just searched for "paulw website". Nothing of use came up. I know you have a website because I have seen it somewhere here before. I also searched for threads on "clickpic" - nothing.

Sometimes the search function just doesn't have what you're looking for!

Maybe if you enabled signatures, you'd see that most people with websites have them listed in their signatures.

one of the things I am thinking about doing is reassessing the stickies and including that information for anyone who is interested. I will add that to the list of stuff I want to do for the week.

I have two photographic websites as follows:

Dancing Shades of Light
(Wordpress)

and the gallery site.
(Coppermine and Wordpress)

Clicpic have a nice product on offer. I seriously thought about it but wound up staying with Coppermine in the end.

Mine is below. It's a wordpress powered site with a hacked theme to my liking. It's not the best in the world but it's clean and that's how I like it. If you need any help with setting up one, I' here to help.

It's in a permanent state of 'Under Construction' though.

It's all hand typed with just a bit of copy and paste to help me out.

I did make use of a batch text replacer when I had to do a major structural change recently.

I have no website but would love one as my music side of things has really taken off, have over 200 subscribers to my videos on utube and would love a sight that merges both my Gig photography and my videos in one, alas I'm an internet noob and not got a clue how to create a website.

I get about 150Gb of space and 1.5Tb of bandwidth per month with GoDaddy.com for about a fiver. Never had any issue with them.

I imagine if I actually started approaching anywhere near that they'd have a fit though.

Ok so lads and girls, do you tag your photos on your sites? How many tags do you give them?

Just say I have a lovely sparkly picture of a mountain. I'd put the following tags on it - "beautiful irish scenery mountain countryside ireland". Would that be enough? Do you tag in different languages too? I can speak a little spanish so would it be worth throwing on a spanish translation of whatever I tag the photos with?

I have just given clickpic a go - it's useless. You can only upload 60 pictures for the whole year's subscription which costs about 50e. What a load of crap!

I've just signed up for the free trial to test it out and I've already reached the limit of 60 photos for the whole year in the space of a few hours - and they want me to pay 50euro at the end of the trial period to activate it? What a ****ing joke!

Is that ewales thing wasy to set up? Clickpic does almost everything for you, you don't need to know any java or scripts or whatever... But only 60 photos for a whole year! I'm so pissed off because I only noticed after I put up the 60 photos!

Tbh, if you have the cash, get someone to design it, student or whatever, or buy a template - There's seriously no point in making a site that looks gammy

I'd spend a few bob before using something cheaper that looks horrible. And remember, students are always looking for a few bob - Find one that can do a handy job for a few hundred if you're up for it

When I get a few days clear to figure it out. Darren et al I might be bugging you a bit on setting that up - Wordpress.org's codex is scary at first glance!
