Like all the camera noobs on here, I decided to get out there and take some sports shots. The light was great for most of the game and I managed to grab a few that I like.

I now understand what you guys mean about the need for long, fast lenses.

Still, it was a good laugh. Would like some C&C please.

Firstly, it would be an advantage to link back to your actual FlickR account, and allow people to see the EXIF.

The first image looks a little soft, and the horizon doesn't look level (judge by the goal posts).

    The second looks good.

Both images look quite bright, and you could darken them down just slightly.

    Just my view.

1st looks a bit flat and washed out - maybe some added contrast or saturation?

2nd sky looks great, and nice P.O.V.

Thanks, agree with all the comments re: the colour of the first, I edited it on another machine and it looked much darker. Will try some more editing and see how it goes.

As for the second, I used to play second row for the green team so I knew the lineout calls. Managed to pretty much kneel beside the hooker for the shot and anticipate where the ball was going. Am a bit disappointed with the opponent's eyes though.

Probably wouldn't work in Landsdowne Rd. but sure
