Anyone else think that this additional layer of red tape is just adding to the end of free flowing of gaelic football?

As far as I'm concerned shirt tugging should equal automatic yellow card. I think above all aspects of the game the shirt tug is the most frequented foul in the game, the foul that influeneces the result of a 'match off' between defender/attacker, and also the foul that referees ignore the most.

If an attacker has the skill/pace/agility/guile/intelligence to beat a defender to the ball then a simple jersey tug shouldn't be allowed to nullify this.

Jersey tug should equal auto yellow card (IMO) and that should sort out alot of the shyte going on in the game at the moment.

i agree - the shirt pool in my eyes is a professional foul, especially if the player is away from his defender.
i always think that GAA players get away with some ridiculous fouls that soccer players are booked for instantly

With good reason, soccer players get booked for the softest of reasons. In fact, physicality in the top level of soccer barely seems to exist, and its pathetic.

Physicality doesn't equal shirt tugging. Shirt Tugging = Cheating , Shirt Tugging = I am beat, I need to gain an unfair advantage.

It's ruining the game. Auto Yellows would sort it out within a season

Orizio - when i say soccer players get booked easily i am referrring to shirt tugging etc as Culchie alludes to.
with regard to soccer players not being hard enough...not thats an entirely different discussion ;)
