18.4 inch screen ?You do know thats a monster of a massive laptop (even 17 inch laptops are huge in my opinion .That will probably pin you to the sofa and set you on fire as it heats up !Seriously though I dont know if you specifically want this for watching movies or what ...its just way too big for me to even fathom ...they must represent less than 1% of the laptop screen size market ....Must weigh a ton...Anybody got a more objective opinion than my (mini laptop/netbook lovin...) cissy viewpoint ....I presume you are at least a rugby player if not a body builder !

...Weighs 4.1kg which is probably twice that of an average laptop....the latest netbook mini laptops are under 1kg....This yoke has 6 speakers including a subwoofer and a 9500graphics card ...2GHz processor and 4 Gb RAM....would be a nice gaming machine and you get a hell of a lot of hardware for your money ....interesting find just waaaaaaaaay too BIIIIIIIIG!!!

I'm presuming it's intended as a desktop replacement. I wouldn't expect heat to be a massive issue either, usually bigger the machine the better the heat distribution. It's got hdmi output too, with bluray. However if it will be moved around i'd say consider a smaller machine, it is a monster:)

better than the 20.1 hp desktop replacement in pc world selling for near 2 grand which has windows media player playing a 1 minute demo of Call of duty 4 in what appears to be a very sh1tty less than youtube quality video which is meant to show off its gaming ability. :p

that 16" is the entry level version is nice but it does not have a blu ray drive in it, but has everything else.

i wouldnt be moving it around too much, yah would be used for movie watching and the likes, the thing is though the model i listed is the entry level 18", wheras u can get a 16" with the same specs but a quicker processor and a tv card, heres a comparison...

    16" €1192.53

    Processor - Intel Core 2 Duo T8300 2.4 GHz Dual-Core
    RAM - 4 GB (installed) 4 GB (max) - DDR2 SDRAM
    Hard Drive - 320 GB
Built-in Freeview digital TV tuner. With over 40 TV and 26 Radio channels it’s an endless source of entertainment
    Screen - 16 in TFT active matrix 1920 x 1080 24-bit (16.7 million colours)
    Optical Drive - DVD±RW (±R DL) / DVD-RAM / BD-ROM
Graphics - NVIDIA GeForce 9500M GS
    Bluetooth - Yes
    Warranty - 1 year warranty
    Weight - 3.5kg

    vs

    18" €1192.53

    Processor - Intel Core 2 Duo T5750 2.0 GHz Dual-Core
RAM - 4 GB (installed) 4 GB (max) - DDR II SDRAM
    Hard Drive - 320 GB
    Screen - 18.4 in TFT active matrix 1920 x 1080 24-bit (16.7 million colours)
    Optical Drive - DVD±RW (±R DL) / DVD-RAM / BD-ROM
    Graphics - NVIDIA GeForce 9500M GS - 512 MB
    Bluetooth - Yes
    Notebook Camera - Integrated - 0.3 Megapixel
    Warranty - 1 year warranty
    Weight - 4.1kg

so they are the same price, the 18" has the bigger screen, but a slower processor, its data bus speed is 667mhz compared to the 16" 800mhz data bus speed, and the 16" also has a 3MB cache compared to the 18" 2MB cache

so which would be a better option to go down, the quicker processor on the smaller screen with a tv tuner built in(will it even connect up to my sky box)

    or

the larger 18" screen, slower processor, slower data bus speed, no tv tuner

any thoughts to help me decide?

You wont even notice the lesser cache or even clock speed for those sort of uses. I'd definitely go for the 16", 18"@4.1KG is a joke entirely! I wouldn't even call that a laptop, I'd call it merely a small PC. The 16" still has HD resolution, Blu-Ray, same video card - basically what actually matters.

I seen one of the 8920g in curry's here in london. stupid size. Massive piece of equipment and not portable.

If u want something this big then get a desktop. better performance.

I have 5920g which is very good option. has blu-ray and 4gb ram plus ok graphics. can be got for 599 sterling.
