hi everyone, just wondering if one of you might have a recommendation for a good optician in cork? i have gone through 2 pairs of glasses in the past year and a half, and gone down a prescription in each eye each time. i thought your eyesight shouldn't be deteriorating at such a rate that you'd only get 6 months out of the perscription glasses at this age (26). i asked the optician the last time and she said everything was fine which was reassuring but it was a very rushed test in specsavers. if anyone has any reccomendations i'd really appreciate it. price doesn't matter at all, i'm just worried and want to get them checked by someone good but don't know who to go to!

Leonie Lyons Bridge Street Co. Cork (021)4501811 I've lived all over the world and I thought the test I had from Leonie was the most comprehensive I've ever had. I was very impressed and will be certainly going back there again for my next check up.

I've tried many opticians over the years, having suffered from various eye problems. Having recently used Kenneally Opticians, Skibbereen, my only advice is to avoid Kenneally's like the plague. Their service is terrible.

    Is this for real?

Sorry you had a bad time but your reaction seems way over the top....i have used Kenneally Opticians in Skibbereen and i have to say they are the best i have come across. Very eager to help. I would certainly use them again.

It is interesting that Bodhi Tree has only made 1 post ever and feels strongly enough to defend an optician in that post. I would suggest that this post is from the owner. The original post rating Kenneally's opticians as poor is 4 years old I notice but some things never change I guess. I agree with the previous comments suggesting that Kenneally's optician in Skibbereen/Bantry is poor. I have used the service and found it very poor indeed. I won't be returning.

Sorry Gardening hobby I am not in anyway connected to Kennealy's opticians. I have used them twice and clearly i must have arrived on a good day (!) because they were very nice to me and i thought they did a good job. that said i didnt need anything more than reading glasses. I'm very deaf and found Specsavers in Cork didnt provide the level of contact i needed probably because they're so busy. A small local optician just worked out perfectly!

I don't believe you for one second. The original post you criticised was dated 2011. Your first post as bodhi tree was March 2015, four years later, defending a very poor optician service. I made a post yesterday and you are back one hour later defending Kenneally Opticians again in what is only your second ever post on Boards. It's quite obvious to me that something is very wrong here and that you are connected with the business.

My honest opinion is that of all the optician services I have availed of in Cork, Kenneally's stands out as being by far the worst. I totally agree with the other negative comments made here over the years. Poor service at an expensive price is simply poor service at an expensive price no matter which way you look at it. By the way, having used a number of opticians, I can honestly say that Specsavers in Cork have always provided me with a top class service. I have always found them excellent in every way,

You misunderstood me Gardenhobby. I didnt mean to make it sound like Specsavers were poor. They most certainly arent. They're a very professional business. What i said was I am profoundly deaf and it suited me better to go to the small local optician.
