The one thing I've noticed o this board, particularly in the random photo page is how many people don't have access to photoshop or are looking for somthing different. Thought I'd start this thread to outline the other free options available on the web.

Flickr hosts picnik.com, but if you visit the site itself (i.e. don't "edit photo" in flickr itself, you have access to many more options and styles). Requires sign-up.

There's always GIMP too, which has been mentioned many times. A more detailed editor than picnik. Similar in a way to Photoshop itself.

Paint.net is similar to GIMP in some aspects too. Most users of this prduct feel it is highly underrated. Rated the #19 on the list of "top 100 products of 2007". Some neat little features.

Phixr is another free tool, but is very basic. Requires sign-up before use. Supports facebook photos.

My newest find: Fotoflexer. Claims to be the most advanced online photo editor available. Similar to picnik, but with layers, curves, recolouring and morphing tools. Easy ability to upload pictures from Flickr, Picassa, Photobucket, facebook and myspace amongst others. Fast photo uploads. Some small bugs, but on the whole very impressive.

If anyone else has other sites they'd recommend, please pop them up and share!

ahem ahem. T&C of FotoFlexor. It doesn't specify exaclty anywhere what's meant by 'sharing' and I didn't delve into the site enough to see, but I presume its anything you make public. No chance of preserving an 'all rights reserved' or anything by the looks of things.
Your physical or electronic sharing of your images constitutes permission for reprinting by the recipient. In addition, by sharing your images, you grant other Users of FotoFlexer an irrevocable, perpetual, non-exclusive, transferable, fully paid, worldwide license (with the right to sublicense) to use, copy, publicly display, reformat, excerpt (in whole or in part) and distribute your images for any purpose on or in connection with the Site or the promotion thereof, to prepare derivative works of, or incorporate into other works, such images, and to grant and authorize sublicenses of the foregoing. This license will not expire upon your removal of the content from the Site or Service. FotoFlexer will not be liable for the content of any Submission and expressly disclaims all liability relating thereto.

Didn't look that far into it my man. Based it at editing level only. But it's a fair point!
