Have a set of these already, great yokes. Do yourself a favour though and change the mount screw for longer ones. As one intrepid skirmisher found out, they can snap.

But if one already has a workign holster, is there really any point?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,984 ✭✭✭NakedDex

Depends on the holster. If you don't have a SERPA holster then yes, there's a big point. Especially if you like droplegs rather than hip or cross draw. SERPAs are about the only dropleg that don't try to explore your inner thigh or back of your knee while you're running.
Plus, they're far more secure than any other holster I've come across. Even more so than the 6004 Safariland holsters.

That said, if you're happy with what you have and it works for you then don't overcomplicate it and stick with what works for you. Personally I was never happy with a holster until I got one of those panels and two of the holsters.

yeah same here., ya havent seen a proper dropleg until youve used the serpa., :)

That's it Dex, I have a viper drop leg for my M9.
It does the job though I have to admit, at the beginning of every game the straps need re-tightening, and by the end they have sunk to the top of my knee.
Though the holster itself stays in the same place, it doesn't rattle or shake/bounce and most important, the gun has never fallen out.

I think alot of people confuse needing with wanting.

There are rare occasions where you can get Gucci airsoft gear that is actually worth getting because it functions as well as it looks. SERPA holsters are one of those things. I was never happy with traditional droplegs of any kind, I've used at least a dozen types and never found one that was worth keeping.
But, like I said, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Use what suits you, not what suits everyone else.

    absolutely!
Airsoft isnt really about needing, coz we only "need" about 250quids worth of gear altogether but we often spend way more than that on a single rifle.,lol
thast why we're really just "paintball for posers".,

Well that's it, but this is the only holster I've ever had so I don't know what is or isn't better tbh.

I'd spend that on a stock alone...

have to say i agree the serpa is well worth the investment.

Unfortunatly i dont have the dropleg panel im awaiting one, but when it does arrive im sure it will be epic.

I have a 1911 serpa holster on the way too, and allowing the interchange between my m9 also, its just a brilliant piece of kit, recommend to me by vtec...and have to say it was a great investment.

I have the blackhawk sepra for 1911 para, sig 229 and for the M9. The 1911 fell out once, the sig 229 is a bit too tight no matter how much I adjust that little screw and the M9 fit like a glove. The good thing about the dropleg is that you can interchange which ever type of holster you want. However, I still perfer the Forbus for the Glock 19. Absolutely fabulous.

With these type of holster, the make of you sidearm is very importment. Some brands are good, some brands are not so good. Prefect fit is hard to find!!

i have a fobus for my glock too., cant say id prefer iit to the serpa though, it can be a pain to get out with one hand at times.,

Is your 1911 a tactical one? the ones with the rails are a bit tight in the serpa holsters.,

No Vtec, it's the KJ Works 1911 Para. You really have to push it down to have it locked and on the release, push downwards again then press the release button and out she comes. I've seen you using your Forbus a couple of Sundays ago alright, they can be a bit tight, but secure.
