Not SF but I went Dublin-LA lst year and being 6ft1" had no problem. Wouldn't be a regular long hauler so can't compare with other airlines.

    🧐IMHO, God wants us all to ENJOY many,many ice-creams , 🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦

Depends on the plane. The newer ones have individual entertainment screens.

Recline won't be great, if you're flying economy. Not much different than on their short haul planes.

Search the forum for Aer Lingus and you'll find many threads about what they're like.

I haven't flown long haul with EI for years but it was a terrible experience (to Chicago).

Things may have changed since but there was no seat back TV. My headphone socket didn't work so I couldnt watch the movies anyway.

And to top it all off....I went to Chicago with 2 EI sales reps as part of a business trip, first of all there were no seats available in Biz class and we had to fly economy but the reps said dont worry we would all be "looked after"

The in flight service was crap, very stingy when it came to handing out soft drinks and water even though we were with 2 EI staff. I thought I would die of thirst :D

I'm just glad that it was a freebie flight because I would of been very  if I had been a paying punter.

That was in 2000 and I never flew EI again. Like I said, maybe they have changed but....once bitten and all that.

As for other airlines....BA are fine but Virgin would always be my first choice to the US, only thing is you have to get to London first which isn't an issue for me but I know some people prefer to fly direct from Dub.

    Thanks keefg

I have experienced travelling with BA on their Primium econ " Middle Class" which was great but I also tried ther normal cheap seats to new york and I didn't like it at all

however its a long flight and I feel you need a comfortable seat etc

in January I went to san francisco with virgin brillant experience had a wnderful trip but it was traveler plus worth the money

as I would like to do a few trips I just booked a flight from cork to heathrow to san fran with BA in the middle class for less than 950euro

any comments on the Aer lingus would be welcome
