I had blonde highlights for a few years and went back to brunette before xmas because my hair was in bad condition and felt like a change. I want to change back now but wondering what is the best way to do it. Do i just get a few streaks to start with or go mad and get loads.

i went completey blonde in the new year. I went from dark brunette to peroxide in one fell swoop. My hair is still dry and brittle...I wouldn't recomend it to anyone. I was travelling when I did it and so i didnt really care...if i had been at home and had to go to work i would have cried. It looks great now the right colour and everything but i'm not sure the condition will ever return while i'm blonde...depends on how much of your condition your willing to sacrafice

Why don't you have a chat with your hair dresser? They can recommend the best way to do it but the ultimate result is up to you. If you want to go back to being full on blonde then go do it. No point doing it in stages!

    Thanks
I know what you are saying about the condition Littlesurfer. That is my problem. I love the condition of my hair at the moment. I wash it and it is soft and shiny before it was just a dry mess although the colour was lovely. I will have a chat to my hairdresser and see what she thinks.

Hi, I have been blonde for a number of years now, originally a brunette as well. Many hairdressers recommend adding gradual highlights in your hair over a period of say 6-9 months, so that you get used to the lightened effect, Blonde hair is high maintenance and you have to be prepared to get it done up to 6 times a year, depending on the type of regrowth you have. The salon products, kerasatase in particular is quite good for bleached hair.
