They really need to reformulate the packaging for this product!!

Yes they certainly do! I mean if you have to cut the container open in two spots to get the majority of the product out, that's pretty blatantly bad packaging. Still, I had no idea I was even wasting so much of this, and until they change the packaging (if they ever do), this is good to know.

They are changing the packaging.

Right now, they're saying to just bang the tube off a table or something to get the end bits out.

That's great, hadn't heard that. Do you know what the new packaging is like? A squeeze tube or something would be nice.

The problem with banging it off the table is after you've been using the product long enough for it to seem empty what's left in the tube has dried out a bit. Banging it really doesn't help much.
