Hey all, i am going to a card club tonight and i have just realized they probably won't have dealers at the tourney table.
I am a klutz and ignorant of proper shuffling methods.:(
Will passing the dealing skills along garner derision and resentment or would it be common enough?
Yeah i am new to this, played in one tourney live but liked the buzz, i suppose i might aswell place a haddock on my lapel eh?:P

if it's an actual card club I would've thought they'd have dealers unless it's a very small buy-in and reg.

In many self-deal games I've played, someone at the table has often offered to deal for the table to speed the game up. But that doesn't always happen, so yes you may be required to deal.

Keep your shuffling simple and if possible use the thing to hide the bottom card - just watch the others and do the simple stuff, ignore the fancy stuff.

Wrap a bandage around your wrist and tell them its sprained. Should get you out of it without exposing youre lack of experience

I'd always deal for the table....that 50 year old man has shakey hands, gonna get 15 hands an hour with him dealing.

Learn to set the deck and dealing yourself is huge +ev

Ah sure it wasn't an issue after all.
Went to the Loft in Naas, played a 40 10 10 scalp tourney
Very enjoyable except for watching my house of kings full of aces beaten by poker aces:(

Finished fifth but had a good evening, thanks to all at the loft in Naas, good atmosphere, friendly, and i'll be back!

Stay clear of a scruffy looking youth in a UCD hoody with a rather distasteful obsession for the game.

Really? In a tournament I would be very pissed off at this rate.
