    Hi all,

I have a new pc with Vista on it. I still have my old pc and I want to take the hard drive out of that and put it into my new pc as there are files on it that I want.

The only problem (if it is a problem) is that the old drive has an operating system on it. Would this cause a problem?

    Thanks in advance

No problems whatsoever.... Just pop it in as a slave and work away.

Won't be a problem the old drive will show its documents folders,
probably best to change the jumpers to slave on the old drive but it might not be important.

Ah right ok, thanks for that! I thought by putting a second drive in there with a different operating system on it it would cause some sort of confusion.

your new machine might have a sata drive and connections in it though, compared to possibly an ide drive in your older machine, you will know by the connection coming off the drive.
