    hi
i live beside drumcondra station too!!
and i had froebel down on my cao too (along with all the teaching colleges!!)........
i think the best way to get out to there would be on dart to blackrock...as in dart from drumc to connolly and then connolly to blackrock??
when i started a thread about froebel before..someone sent me this message
"Time table is TCD lectures every monday.
    Tues - Thurs 9.10 - 4.00
    Fri - 9.10 - 1.00

I think that's it. Lectures are like classes in secondary school. Even laid out like classrooms not lecture halls and you might get a few free classes if you're lucky. Usually a packed day though with a little and big break.

    Subjects:
    English Lit, Gaeilge, Maths, Theology
English methods, Modhanna muinte na Gaeilge, Maths methods, RE
    SESE (hist/geog/sci)
Drama, Visual art, music, Early Childhood Ed, Spec Ed
    SPHE, ICT, PE
    Intercultural ed
    Professional Development
TCD Modules: Hist of Ed, Phil of Ed, child psych, Lang dev, Soc of Ed

You get a ton of assignments and exams too.

Teaching Practices are in Oct - Nov (Dublin) and March - April (Home) for 3 weeks and 1 prep week. Observation week in September.

There are a few after school club org things like Hip hop, choir, sports team, religious stuff. Most nights out start in the seomra caidreamh for wine/ cans, pizza and a sing song then off to Coppers to get pissed n score some garda hick."

Hope all goes well for you!:Dim starting in st.pats in september too so should be fun:)

That would be the Maynooth train (not the DART) you'd be getting from Drumcondra to Connolly.

I made my way from drumcondra to froebel everyday last year. I did it on the bus but the dart is quicker. From my experience i think you can get a dart straight to blackrock from Drumcondra t 8.25am in the morning and it will arrive in blackrock at 9.08am every morning. So if you're up for being a little bit late every morning for lectures then it's probally your best option.

a train everymorning, are you sure?, sounds good, awh i dont mind been late, lectures apparently dont start until 9.10 each morning anyhow:)

There's a train that goes from Maynooth to Bray each morning, it leaves Drumcondra around 8:30 and gets into Blackrock at 9:03am. So, no changing at Connolly.

And as mentioned above, it's not the DART, it's the suburban train. The DART doesn't go to/from Drumcondra.

You might cop on to get the train but the trains mentoined is the only morning train to go to Blackrock from Drumcondra so you might not get the right one if the difference between that and the others is not pointed out.

95% of trains that go through Drumcondra terminate at Connolly or Pearse whereas the Dart goes from Howth to Bray. That is why the distinction between the Dart and the other suburban rail services actually matters.

We make the distinction between Dart and other lines in order to help people (the OP appears not to be familiar with the run of things) because it matters greatly if you are making time in the morning. It is not an effort to annoy people with pedantry.

People are of course entitled to grab the next train to wherever if they want, but they just may not be where they want to be on time.
