Just doing the montly check up on all things Ben Folds and was delighted to discover not only is his new album a mere month away, but also TWO Vicar Street gigs in late November!

New songs sound good from a quick listen, good to see Regina Spektor making a guest appearance.

Tickets to the gigs don't seem to be on sale there, but will be there: Ben Folds is still one of my favourite live performers, and just great fun.

Nice one. Had tickets to see Ben Folds the last time he was due to play Vicar Street a few years back and when he rescheduled I had to bring my tickets back for a refund cos I didn't think I was going to make the new date. Turns out I then could but couldn't get a ticket again. Was gutted. Won't be missing it this time 'round...

i love Ben Folds but don't like all the Neil Hannon worship that goes on at his shows. I've been to every show in Ireland since the 5 broke up. Once there was a European tour, headlined by Ben Folds and supported by Divine Comedy. When it got to The Ambassador they switched the billing!

Yeah it is quite an unusual obsession. Probably the only time Ben gets to see Neil, but it is still annoying (he was only mentioned the first time, but his actual appearance during Bitches Aint **** the second time was regrettable). Still, a Folds gig is still one helluva good night.

I shall wait til I hear the full album before judging these tracks.

But Johnny is right, a ben folds show should not be missed.

Does anyone know whats happening with these shows? Tickets never went on sale as far as I know and they don't seem to be listed on his web site anymore.

Was really looking forward to it.

Yeah its mad. No sign on ticketmaster (and have been checking daily) and all references disappeared on the official sites. I hope they haven't been cancelled, but all the British tickets are well on sale at this point. Have no idea whats happening, will have to wait and see.

On a more positive sign, the insanely catchy Bitch Went Nuts can be heard over here. And check out Myspace to hear the 'leaked' album aka the joke album Ben recorded in Dublin a while ago 'for the lulz'.
