My mate says your mates talking rubbish.

Edit: but I do actually hope that there is never a test for insulin.

Well the fact that he is in the Showers before the rest of the Worlds finest, most dedicated, hyper-trained, athletically magnificent individuals even reach the 1/2 way mark means that I and many others will always have reservations - whether he passes his tests or not.

What do your mates think of Michael Johnson?
    Phelps?
    Bekele?
    El guerrouj?
    Steve Redgrave?
    Mark Spiitz?
    Olga Korbett?
    Pele?
    Jessie Owens?
    DJ Carey?
    Maurice Fitzgerald?

Or is it just World class sprinters, head and shoulders, above their peers they are experts in?
Or can they explain how other sports people can be that step ahead?

Honestly - I'm tired of this Bolt bashing.
Is there 'Phelps-bashing' going on in the swimming forum?
Where breaking world records in semi finals is the done thing these days..

sprinting is different to most sports in that power is so important. Most others sports you allude to like hurling and soccer involves technical skills which cannot be improved much if any by drugs/hormones.
Many of fastest sprinters of past 2 decades have been shown to have been using performance enhancing substances, so it is only right and natural to question a new young sprinter who is faster than all those immensly gifted yet tainted sprinters of past.
I don't personally think Bolt is a cheat. I just think he is a freak biomechanically/genetically.
Phelps has been shown to have an anatomy perfect for swimming and some freak ability to recover very quickly from exertion so for presnt i don't doubt him either.

In the Colin Jackson program that was on a few weeks ago they proved that he was a genetic freak of nature after taking a lump out of his leg.

Maybe they should be doing more test like that on athletes, only need to be done once at the start of their carreer, and you only get to take part in the Olympics if your proven to be a genetic freak. Still have the drugs tests for other stuff as well, but it would prove to sceptics that these people are just plain odd rather than having to be on something as well.

Every athlete I listed above could have benefited from cheating, some of them to a lesser degree than others, by using drugs or other illegal ways to gain an advantage.

Read the other threads, and do a little research.
Bolt hasn't come from the blue [pardon the pun]: This was coming, and has been predicted since he was 15 [and younger].
    Even here on this forum
some freak ability to recover very quickly from exertion
I wish I was an expert on what all the various drugs do- and I'd name the one that was used for exactly that, quick recvovery.

Anyway, I've had enough of disussing this. Roll on the rest of the games, and some very interesting Grand Prix after that!

What's the point of this post if there's no test, nor will there ever be (though how would he know that? Is he a scientist?)

If the Jamaicans can get it then what's stopping everyone else?

I'm locking this thread. This is as unsubstantiated as it gets.
