Falling for your Best Friend

    Hi all,

Have a big dilemma here. I didn't think I was gay, but for some reason over the past few months, I've somehow fallen for a friend, a best friend I'd say...deeply like never before.

Is this just a phase I'm going through, because I've never felt this way for a guy before, especially in a sexual way...I want to tell him, but am keeping it a close guarded secret for a few weeks maybe.

Not sure what to do lke.

    Any advice?
    Cheers

is your friend a proper alpha-male?
if not, then has he ever said that he would never try being gay, or that he doesn't think gay relationships are right?

cuz if he is fine about gay partnerships, you should tell him, a real best friend can get over that kind of thing as if it was a girl falling for her guy best friend.

In my experience friends falling for eachother changes everything forever, gender and sexual orientation irrespective.

A gay man falling for a straight male friend can pretty much guarantee serious awkwardness at the very least, depending on the attitude and temperament of the straight male in question, and most straight men would usually not appreciate sexual advances from other males, to be honest.

I would advise you to tread carefully OP (that's if it's wise to 'tread' there at all)

One of my best friends of long-standing came out as lesbian a couple of years ago, was no hassle at all. Have been to the clubs and stuff with her and it's good fun
:D But I'd be gutted if she ever came to me saying she fancied me, I don't think I'd ever feel so comfortable again with her, on hols, swimming, changing rooms etc. It would definitely change everything. Unless you have reason to think he might be bi, I wouldn't go there. Guys don't handle this as well as girls even.

Are you starting to think of other guys as sexual too or is it just this guy?
How old are you - it could be just a "youth phase" maybe?

Op if these feelings are real, and you're sure your mate is straight, then I think its one of those things that should stay buried. It wont be easy for a few months but at least you'll still have the friendship
