Getting married abroad

    I found the following on citizensinformation.ie:
    ..your marriage abroad will not be recognised under Irish law if one or both of you was ordinarily resident in Ireland and one or both of you was under 18 at the time of the marriage and did not have a Court Exemption Order.

    I am not a lawyer, but does this mean that an Irish citizen, resident in Ireland, who wishes to marry a foreign national, currently resident in Ireland under a work Visa, in the foreign nationals home country would not be allowed to do so?

    Nope, it only means it won't be recognised if one or both of you are under 18 and don't have a court excemption.

    Thanks Barbiegirl, I reread that and got exactly what you said. I must have confused an Or with an And the first few times
