Looks like a reworked version of the now retired Opel Vectra.

Tragedy

The little tiny lip grille at the front ruins the looks.

I've seen that this car has recently been released in the UK and is getting pretty decent praise.

Not a Focus/Golf beater; but apparently fairs well against the Ceed and i30.

Any idea if it'll be out in Ireland? I'd like to take one for a burn..!

I see it might be coming with the 150BHP TD engine

I can only assume this is the same fiat engine that was in the Vectra?
Looks a smart enough car to me.
Wonder what price range will it be?

I had those feelings regarding an astra.

To close this topic - September they'll announce pricing for Jan 2010 release. Autoexpress and Whatcar have given it pretty decent reviews..!

Slightly off topic but I take it that it's highly unlikely that an Irish banger would qualify under the UK scrappage scheme..? Should I want to import a new one, of course.

Take it to the UK and get it re-regd.. Do the scrappage then??
