not sure about internships,..If it was me I'd send cover letters to U magazine irish tatler and that lot. limperts acadamy in dublin do a distance learning course in fashion that is very affordable and recognised internationally. If your still studying that might be a good idea so that when you are approaching companies after you have something to show.

also there are some good sites online with graduate programmes and internships available. Get googling. most people look abroad when it comes to fashion and business in this country...apparantly the unfortunate truth is we do not have a pioneering fashion sector....DBS send students to milan in the third year of their fashion courses. I have little interest in the business side but friends i have spoken to who are have mostly decided to move abroad after study to pursue a career in fashion marketing and business.

    Good luck

The Motorola Dublin Fashion week starts tomorrow. Go and mingle and see if you can make some contacts. Also, Style In The City is on from 12th September. You could get in contact with them and see if help is needed.

Ring up, do not send an email as you won't get a reply, all the Irish mags, including the Sunday Indo mag, and tell them what you're about. They might be glad of someone to come in and make the coffee!!

Also, maybe talking with the personal shoppers in BT's, Dundrum and Topshop can offer you some advice.

    Good Luck.

Dublin fashion week hosted at the Radisson on Golden Lane, D8, 25-27 August, plus future 2009 weeks link.

And if you like intimate apparel then try Caoimhe O'Dwyer on Ashley Rise, Martello Portmarnock, Co Dub. They make several of the fashion shows.

The big fashion agencies on our side of the globe are typically found in London, Paris, Milan, and New York. If you can get away to London for your internship, you might try the Anne O'Dowd Agency at anne@anneodowd.com

Give me a PM and maybe I can be of some help. I don't have a big name yet but I've just exhibited at DFW, got a bit of press coverage and I have a few stockists for my S/S collection. (www.sineaddoyle.com)
At the moment I'm organising manufacture of those pieces and working on the horribleness of my business plan which will hopefully lead to a grant and sourcing manufacting/ planning design and researching fabrics for next season so probably not much to interest you at the moment but towards January it'll be all the supposedly glamourous photo shoot stuff, press release writing, contacting buyers and then the next fashion week in February and I can always use a hand somewhere along the way.

Not exactly what you were after but if you think it might help your CV, you're more than welcome to contact me.
