I am doing a spec for a house at present, the house has 38% glazing vs floor area.

Looks like a U Value of 1.4 is needed under the regs!

Is there a double glazed window out there at present with a certified U Value of 1.4????? I know Senator do one that 1.5 alright?

These new regs are really raising the bar.

1.1 on the glass only is fairly standard in the market place now (double glazing ) . The whole window u value which includes glass + frame is the important factor however . The more frame , the worse the u value .

So you will receive a schedule from a supplier indicating varying whole window u values , say from 1.3 up to 1.8 , varying depending on the ratio of glass to frame .
