Hi guys, i've recently lost my picture and epg on RTE.

A few questions-What is the cause?
    What is the cure?
Is it just my tv affected?

Its an LG widescreen with "built-in" digital.

    Thanks in advance ,Dan.

There is no official Digital TV service till Next year. Just tests now. Your TV may not even be compatible

It was'nt a problem up until a few weeks ago.

i have now lost picture for TnaG, TV3, RTE 1+2 although still recieve audio for them.

I have tried retuning them all but to no avail.

All the trials ceased a few weeks ago! Any new trial uses a new format MPEG4.

In other words your digital TV tuner is only capable of decoding the older type of video that the established digital TV providers use (like Freeview).

We in ireland, as the other posters mentioned, are going to use mpeg4, which is better technically but newer. TVs sold in Ireland generally haven't included it yet.

This happened to me aswell. I recently bought a DVD Recorder and of course at the end of the trial everything stopped. Now, though, I am just getting sound like Rubbersoul909. Does this mean my DVD Recorder is effectively useless? As I have terrible reception because of my crappy aerial and I hate watching fuzzy TV!
