Vw Golf won't start, help please!

    I have a 00 1.9 diesel golf, the car is turning over when i try to start it but thats as far as it goes!
    when i turn on the ignition the glow plugs light does not come on.
    Appreciate any help folks.

    It could be a number of faults. Glow plug relay, glow plugs, fuel supply, etc, etc.....

    But start by checking the glow plug fuse, it should be mounted in a housing on top of the battery - just lift the cover and check the strip fuses. If that's OK then you'll need to see if the glow plugs are working - this is best done with an ammeter/amp clamp.

    Don't be silly, its a VW. It never breaks down. Go back out and start it again - you must have tried the Renault beside it by accident. ;)

    If only bluefoam, the fuses are grand, i think i'm gonna have to swallow my pride and my wallet and bring it into a garage!
