just a warning ladies,i got my hair done in global hairdressers off harcourt street today and it is an absolute mess, its a hairdressing school.ive previoulsy had my hair done in robert chambers school of hairdressing on grafton street and they did a great job ,however this place is a disgrace, they left the colour on my hair for an hour and a half while they messed around with eachothers hair, the lady in charge didnt even supervise, the girl doing my hair constantly moaned and tutted ,when she was rinsing my hair i got a feckin shower, the hair dye remains all around the edge of my hair line and on my face.the manager cut my hair as there was no student available to do it,she made a mess,my fringe is uneven and when she was finished doing my fringe she didnt even blowdry it,just left it parted in the middle lookin like ****.my scalp feels like its been burnt, never again,do NOT go to this place:mad:

You should let them know your feelings and see if they can sort it for you.

i did,i rang them when i got home, they said to put milk in my hair to stop the burning on my scalp, that didnt work.so i went to the chemist, they gave me savlon to rub on my scalp, thats worn off now and my scalp is burning again.
the lady who did my haircut was the manager, she made a complete mess,it looks like i cut it myself.
they left my colour in for 1hour and 30 mins instead of the maximum of 40mins

That's horrendous! Surely there must be somewhere else you could complain about this? Who is in charge of the salon? I know you said the manager cut your hair, but she must be answerable to somebody. I sort of know how you feel, a hairdressing school once wrecked my hair highlighting it, it was like straw until it grew out

Oh My God, I am so happy someone posted here. I am new to boards and the last time i was there was a long time ago, they are an absolute disgrace! I went in for blonde highlights and they dyed my hair BROWN!!!!!!! actually half way through when the supervisor eventually came back to check they realised what the girl was doing and stopped and the brown and just started going over it with blonde??????!!!!!!!! so it ended up half blonde and half brown all in different parts of my head, i actually started to cry and then they had the cheak to try convince me it looked ok?????!!!!!!!!! i demanded a re-do by the top stylist and got a half ar$ed apology of them, they clearly could not care less. I have heard of alot of people getting their scalp burnt in there since I stopped going also. STAY AWAY FROM THE PLACE, they havnt a CLUE what they are doing! Go to House of colour they will look after you very well in there, the BEST hairdressers I have ever been to and Ive been to alot!!!!!:o

    Ok,
sounds terraible... just wanna mention not all colours are max. 40 minutes : alfaparf highlifts are i think up to 60 mins for lift, wella are 50- 55 .. so differant brands require differant lenghts of time. However, i imagine they never did a skin test - perhaps you had an allergic reaction to the colour brand they used? really sorry for you.. :(

well even the so called supervisor said that its max 40mins for their dyes.i went in today and she tryed to get me to sit in the chair sayin she would fix my hair:eek:
she wouldnt give me a refund but the owner of the place called and said he would but at this stage after all the trips in and out of town im starting to think its not worth it.
have an appointment for the morning to get my hair done where i normally do,they will fix it,im getting a conditioning treatment and they will fix the cut.its going to cost me 80 quid though,so i would have been better off getting it done in my usual place.
oh well ,lesson learned, you get what you pay for:mad:
