Reading through the 'Savings + Investments' posts and threads there is a lot of advise saying keep clear of Irish Shares for next few months. However whenever the clowds lift, how can one 'clean up'??

There's lots of confusing advise on brokers and online share acoounts to use, and a lot of people use US or UK accounts that do not trade on ISEQ. I'm intesested in a solid method of buying Irish shares either online or at a recommended broker, no robbers with huge commisions and limitations please.
The obvious ones I'm snearing at are BOI, CRH, AIB.
    Thanks.;)

If you have a current account with NIB online share trading is a minimum of 20€ per trade.

    Current account is free.

    For Ireland perhaps :)

I do love my 6 dollar transactions in the US and zero commission. (Though this is not for ISEQ exchange)

Unless you go with a US based broker then this is about as low as you'll get.

Got my account with NIB for share purchases etc. ... almost ready to go (delays on their side) Its called a 'custody account'. I'm lookin at stickin a few bob into Bank shares but, but, but

the one thing I'm not certain about is what will happen to the bank shares (lets say in Anglo) if the government capitalise the bank.?

Will they be devalued further ?
I've been scanning the papers for info on this...but its just full of the usual shi*e that I know already.

Anyone have a thought idea on this?
