audio device problem

    i need help people,

    i had to get my system wiped clean as i had multiple viruses and it wiped everthing out.

    i have no audio device and need to know where i can download it and how, i am running on windows xp
    i also need to download excel.


    if someone can help me please!!

    First of, you will need to find out which audio driver you need to obtain, if you use a dell for example, you would put your model number into dell.coms driver support page and download the drivers from there, a common driver that you may want to try is "Realtek AC'97" however it is worthwhile confirming this to avoiding problems,
    Second, Excel is a licensed software from microsoft which can only be re-installed using the origional discs that came shipped with your pc, if those are misplaced you cannot legally download it, if a spreadsheet application is needed www.openoffice.org provide a free one which will basicly do the same as excel and open excel files

    If you goto windows update and hit custom rather than express it should bring up Hardware drivers etc... This should show which audio card you have on your system.
