Went to buy my usual Mass X Vanilla the other day and was told it was replaced with the new "Alpine Vanilla" flavour. Sure what the heck I think, must be an actual improvement.
Well, jesus the old flavour was tolerable compared to this crap. It's absolutely disgusting. I nearly get sick every time I take this shake. By far and away the worst tasting shake I have ever come across. Beware!

Contact them by phone or email and explain the situation. They may let you choose another flavour.

But I don't know what the other flavours are like they could be just as bad or worse. I always went for Vanilla in the USN mass fuel or the Nutrition X Mass X.
Couldn't be bothered complaining. Just won't bother with their products again, back to USN for me

I used Mass x for a couple of months but had to return a tub of strawberry one time cause it tasted like sand or something. Not the first time I had experienced inconsistency with nutrition x products but this time it was just completely undrinkable. I've used N-large by prolab since - much better tasting. Haven't used mass gainer in 3 months now because of fat loss diet but I'm looking forward to buying another bucket soon:D

    Agreed

Your priorities when choosing a food should be 1. The nutritional content , 2 the price and 3. The taste ,

Now say it with me boys HARDCORE !!!!:p

In fairness, why chug something down that tastes like sh!t when you can get something thats nice to drink and with the same nutritional properties?

Why do people bother with cars/bikes when they can walk? Same difference, and just as ridiculous.

Since when did ram come in fluorescent orange flavour?

Anyone notice anything different about the colour/taste recently? Maybe this is a stunt like the 'new coke' thing back in the 80s to make us appreciate the old flavour more.

That's been noted here a few times actually, and afaik there's been complaints lodged with Nutrition X about it. You should drop them a line and let them know where/ when you bought it - the lads are usually very decent and accomodating and they appreciate negative feedback as well as all the "Omgz RAM/ Pro X/ XYZ is teh dogs bits!1!!!" comments!

That's weird, I came on here to report the exact same thing before seeing this thread. I just took delivery of two tubs of Orange RAM (the first I've bought in about 4 months) and had my first taste of it today. I don't know why they've changed the flavour. I used to really look forward to drinking it after my workout as I found it really tasty and thirst-quenching. Now it foams way more, has this horrible 'Fanta' colour, and tastes much more sugary - it's like drinking flat Club Orange. I know there has always been sugar in it but I can really feel it on my teeth too.

I'm very disappointed, but glad I'm not the only one who's noticed it.

Just on another note, I got a tub of ProX last week and after reading topics like this I was thinking uh oh. However it's of a really high quality, mixes well, pleasant taste.

To be honest I reckon it's the best quality protein I've had.

I dropped NutritionX an e-mail through their website this morning and ended up speaking to one of their employee's. Very decent, and appreciated the feedback I gave him. I explained what I felt was wrong with the RAM I got, he took the batch number, and he found out that there was too much citric acid in the batch that I received, hence the strange taste.

I found him very helpful and as mentioned, very open to feedback as they can sometimes find it difficult to get honest critisism on the taste of their products. Regarding RAM - it's being used by a rugby group, who are also providing feedback. They requested that there was more flavour added to it, so they put some beta-carotine into it (hence the orangey colour). He wouldn't mention which group but said that all would become clear in the next few weeks.

Anyway, just thought I'd mention this. If you have a gripe about a particular product of theirs, drop them an e-mail as I'm sure they'll do whatever they can to help out.

Well you're paying through the nose for the privilege.
To liken it to walking versus driving is innacurate.
Its more like the difference between driving to work in a black car and driving to work in a pink car with ten grands worth of useless extras.:pac:

I used to think like you Degsy until I got something that tasted like rancid oranges and smelled like someone had taken a dump in my shaker. I actually started taking an extra scoop of it just so it would go twice as fast. Universal Lava, Orange Squash flavour. Ugh.

That being said, most things taste the same to me I only go by mixability apart from quality.

I've been having a few problems myself lately TBH.

I use Pro X and if you don't shake it vigorously in the mixer before adding the water - it seems to 'aerate' it or something - then it mixes very poorly, you get large clots floating about in it. Yuk. With the RAM I use, it foams too much and inhibits the mixing as far as I can work out, and then you get mouthfuls of grainy grit which are not pleasant at all.

Never used to have a problem with either I must say.
