This crowd are similar to iBOOD - one offer each day!

    BOFFER

But their offers go live an hour after iBOOD - at 23.59. But they have the added bonus (well.. depending on how you look at it) that you could see what product will go live tonight before it does!

    So tonight is...
    IDISC012.jpg

    Condition: Brand New
Product: Our first Boffer deal will be launched at 23.59 Monday 18th! For anyone who missed out we will be having another freebie on Friday at 23.59

    Specification:
Format Support: MP1 MP2 MP3 AND WMA AUDIO.
    Connectivity: USB 2.0 high-speed transmission
Colour: Available in White, White or White
Other features: Doubles up as a 2 gig pen drive.
    Condition: Brand new
    Warranty: 1 year
Note: This unit is not supplied with headphones.
Limitation on purchasing: maximum of 3 per customer (order 1, 2 or 3 for £2.99 delivery)

    Price: £1.99
    Delivery: £2.99
That's a 2GB MP3 Player for £1.99.. and as it says, you only pay the delivery for 1 no matter if you order 1, 2 or 3 of them.

The only problem is standard UK delivery is £2.99 and I can't find out anywhere how much shipping to Ireland is but it let me register with an Irish address so they obviously do ship here.

People over at the HotUKDeals forum have ordered from them without problem, and seem to be reputable.

At that price, it could have pink unicorns and a eunuch on it.. I'd still buy it! :D

They don't appear to state it on the site.. probably won't find out until we place an order.

It cant be too bad when you consider the size of the package!!2£ is even a bargain if it was just a plain flash drive(Which is what i'd use it for ), not a mind an mp3 player

This is actually their first offer.

They've been offering various freebies for the last week - CD's / Doom 3 on PC (etc.) for it's beta stages.

I hope they can manage consistently decent offers.I think ibood has gone to s**t recently.Havnt been even half interested in anything they have for the last few months, and i try to check it everyday

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 44,200 ✭✭✭✭Basq

    Agreed..

I don't even bother checking iBOOD anymore.. it's not their due to their lack of decent offers, it's their terrible customer service I'll NEVER deal with again.

Details of my final transaction with iBOOD.

Anyways, expect the site to be jammed comes midnight and also expect it to sell out VERY quickly!

No information on how much shipping was.. no extra shipping costs were indicated when I went through to checkout.

Cost £8.96 (or €11.40) for 3.. gave it a shot!

EDIT: Anyone else go for this?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 642 ✭✭✭red_fox

Yeah, I went for it, €11.67 (paypal) for 6GB of what will most likely be slow memory, it should arrive though and I'll be quite happy if it does.

Gave it a lash. You can't really go wrong with 6gb for that price, even if it does turn out to be a bit slow.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 44,200 ✭✭✭✭Basq

Odds are it will be slow...but 6GB of storage is still 6GB of storage. Not bothered will how slow it is to be honest.

I just sent off for 3 aswell.
    Good spot basquille!
Hopefuly they will have some more good offers in the future.

Yep.. as I mentioned, this was their first offer and while I spotted a few bugs with the site (you can't go back and change your quantity once you've checked out, and proceeded to the payment stages) - still a very promising site though.

They've one of the staffers on the forum (Oli) answering any questions very promptly once they're asked. He's mentioned they've 2000 of the MP3 Players for sale so they'll probably be a fair few til the morning.

    Forum thread for above: http://www.boffer.co.uk/forum/post.php?post_id=10

Asked Oli about shipping to Ireland and he said this:
Q: Oli.. wasn't charged any extra shipping to Ireland. Will it remain this way, or should I expect to pay extra for Irish shipping in the future?
A: It depends if we have to use a courier or not, on royal mail deliveries it will be the same price as UK Mainland.

    Oli

    Cheers, I ordered 3 :)

Looks very promising presuming that us here in Ireland don't get r@ped for postage costs.

I'll be keep my eye on the site anyway for a while. It could work out very well and no 3-week wait for delivery like on Ibood.

A very good deal. Unfortunately, I can't see a buy button. I'm guessing they are sold out but have not updated the text to say that?

    Yeah, they're sold out.

There should be a yellow 'Boffer Me' image to buy it where the text "THIS BOFFER WILL BE LIVE AT 23.59 TONIGHT, SEE YOU THEN" is.

Found out that these IDiscs are manufactured by Pretec, who manufacture Verbatim Flash memory sticks....so they shouldn't be too bad.

Ordered a few myself. Just hope they aren't as bad as the Pretec 2GB drive I currently own, which is slow, and doesn't like to be streamed from. Still, will do for the price.

I like that site :) any site that takes the p*ss out of its own offers is good in my books :)

latest offer is an iqon PC (snigger) with a celeron cpu (chortle) running vista (guffaw) home basic (rofl).

"anyway, here's the blurb from the site:
Iqon Quintal 2021VX Intel Celeron 2.8GHz, 512MB Ram, 160GB, DL DVDRW, Vista Home Basic…

What are you sniggering at? Iqon isn’t the crap people say it is. They used to make a computer just as good as anybody. Or most companies. Or some companies. It’s not their fault they went bust. Blame it on Gordon Brown and the credit crunch… Anyway, they’re not the worst. And the Iqon Quintal 2021VX Desktop Computer is as good a computer as you’ll find on the market today. Probably.

Still giggling? Well, the Intel Celeron 2.8GHz Processor ought to shut you up. You’re probably running some crappy, old 1GHz P3, right? Well, this here’s a souped-up Celeron hot rod. That’s right? We haven’t seen performance this powerful since Bruce Forsyth last performed tap. It can all be yours, assuming you can find apps that are optimized for a Celeron core. There aren’t many. But you’ll thank us in 2013, if you’re Iqon Quintal 2021VX is still running by then.

What’s that? Still not convinced that Iqon can bring the computing pain? What about the jaw-dropping built in video card? Huh? Huh? What about the 512MB’s of RAM, and that massive 160GB hard drive?

Yeah, thought so. Drop the negativity and the skepticism and face the fact that the Iqon Quintal 2021VX exceeds Windows Vista requirements. Now, I’m sure you’ll want to take back some of the nasty things you’ve said about? What’s that? Oh, you hate Vista, too, huh? There’s just no pleasing some people."

    :D

adding that site to my favourites list.

Yeah, they had a humourous enough one yesterday about the Belkin iPod Sync / USB Hub but I found out they stole the description word-for-word from WOOT.com.

I commented on it in their forums, and linked to the WOOT description they "borrowed from".. and they edited my post to remove the link! :D

    Hi Basquille

Just so you know, the Dutch National post service is TNT. If you contact any TNT service depot outside the country (Ireland) about standard post they won't have any way of tracking it.

    I would recommend you contact:
    +31 76 527 2727, thats TNT's customer service desk in the Netherlands.

Give them a reference number if you have it, if not give them iBoods shipping address and your address, they should be able to tell you which depot its at, you can contact them and get them to send it on.

So TNT Ireland is TNT Express in the Netherland

TNT Netherlands is just like An Post :)

Cheers craichoe.. but got my money refunded off iBOOD and their "zip code wasn't recognised by our courier" excuse was utter bollocks!
