Hey guys My mother does her own designs of beaded jewellery and has never really actively done anything about getting them out there more. The designs are great and have had many friends check them out and wear them for various occasions and they are alwaysm commented on.

My mother started these as a hobby but people started asking her to do them nice pieces and repairs and stuff and she does a bit of that,

The thing is we all think it would be better to get the jewellery spread to a wider audience. I am hoping someone has some advice on how to do this. are there any fairs or stuff that these pieces can be shown off in. I dont wanna start a website just yet as I want to see how they go on a smaller scale first but i would like to organise a website if it goes well.

the stuff is good and can post some pics if people wanna check them out.

The UK have several events where smaller retailers go to pick out new clothing lines and jewellery - there's 'PURE' London and 'To Be Confirmed' (if you google the name and trade show you'll find info) Before she takes her designs to a wider audience, she should be sure she could cope with bigger orders.
I think the best thing to do would be to approach some smaller boutiques in your area/region and ask if they would carry some of her designs and see how they sell so you can figure out how to price them etc.
Other options include selling on ebay and starting the website I guess.

I used to do it. I made my own jewellery using beads wire etc I used to sell in a few shops in temple bar when I was in college. I still make the odd bit but I tend to just do special items for friends etc now as I work full time
The only thing I found is that the cost can be a bit prohibitive as you are competing with much cheaper stuff imported from china in all the chain stores. If your mums going to do it shes better maybe positioning herself in a slightly highger market producing high quality premium pieces designed ad hoc

You could start to sell some of it on e-bay
