I have the extreme III (1gb, 2gb and 4gb) and the IV (8gb), all compact flash
the IV is superior, the III is good enough, if price is not very different I'd go for the IV any day
if double the money, go for the III, it will work as fine

try to avoid flee bay, 90+% are fakes

I just ordered some from 7dayshop. I think that 2 x 4Gb Extreme III cards cost a bit about £32. Seems like a good enough price to me & you know they are genuine.

i often go in to conns and ask how much certain memory cards are and then fall about on the floor laughing at how expensive they are in comparison to mymemory.

I use Transcend 266x cards.
One of the top brands on the market & seriously fast cards.
I'll be replacing my cards gradually over the next year with Transcend 300x.
Some of the cards I have for almost 2 years & they get absolutely hammered, but never let me down.

I also have Extreme IV, but not as my primary cards.

This may seem like a stupid question, but if your camera can take CF Card Type I and II, can it take III and IV too? I'm assuming it can, but the technical spec of my camera says it takes Type I and II. Is it pointless in getting a faster type? Camera is an EOS 40d btw

Hi Quint,

the numbers on the sandisk cards are kinda like model numbers rather than different types of cards.

As far as I know the (someone may correct me) but all sandisk cards are type I.

Ah right, my bad research led me to believe there's 4 types, (I-IV) and the 4th being the fastest and latest. But it didn't make sense that a camera couldn't handle the faster one!
But yeah, think i got models and types mixed up

yeah, AFAIK you'd be able to use the faster cards no problem, whether your camera can take advantage of the faster write speeds of the card is another question. I think only relatively newer cameras can.

Cheers, I just bought a 8gig SanDisk Extreme III and card reader from mymemory.
It's great shopping online when shipping is included in the price! Heard bad thing on other sites aswell as here about e-bay memory

Excellent point I bought memory from mymemory, was going to go with sandisk, but found out the max speed is around 12Mb/sec, so went with
