I've just posted this news over on dapreview.net and I know we have quite a few Sony admirers here, so what are you opinions?

Ah, DAPReview. It used to be one of my favourite websites. If I was to recommend an MP3 player to someone, Sony wouldn't be on the top of the list. They seem to be resonably priced compared to an iPod. It would have to take something big for me to move away from an iPod. There are too many flash players on the market. We need more HDD players (that can actually fit in your pocket).

I dunno, I like sony players. They're solid, feature filled and have excellent SQ and a great, practical GUI. They'd certainly be high up on my list of recommendations, providing they fit the bill of the end buyer.

Anyway, any comments on these newer units? basically they're slimmer versions of the S610 with itunes support.

Yeah they look nice - though nothing new. Aside from the radio, there is absolutely no reason or incentive for me to upgrade (?) from my (pink :)) 818. Why no 16GB?
