women in olympics

Just me or has anyone noticed how masculine some of the women in olympics are? I mean muscularly etc. I have doubts over whether some achieved their muscle naturally as it's near impossible for women to gain muscle like that naturally unless one has exceptional genes. One of the female chinese weightlifters looked like a muscular man. Some of the track and field athletes look very muscular and masculine (efects of anabolics). I just don't trust many of them including Christine Ohuruogu and Kelly Holmes in Athens.

I guess you never watched the Olympics during the '80's then?

They all look incredibly feminine compared to the East Germans that were around then which was definately due to drugs, there are of course still drugs involved but there are also better training techniques now.

There were some odds given on which country would be first to fail a gender test..

I think there was an Indian to fail that in a pre-competition test last week, although that was down to a disputed test for a lack of a certain gene that they test for rather than from any actual drug use.

Wrt to the weight lifter, shes probably been training for ten plus years to get where she is,of course her body looks different to most women. We're talking about the olympics, where the uber humans go to play.Frankly i'd be disappointed if they all looked like normal people.

You think these women do not have exceptional genes? We are talking about a few hundred women out of about 3 billion. We are talking about the extreme examples here. The absolute creme de la creme de la creme de la creme.

Some hotties out there too though... usually pottering around in last place - but nice to see :)

Shelly-Ann Fraser (100m gold medalist)... she was hawt :)

Athletes have never looked really stereotypically girly, muscular development is part of the progression of their training. You'd hardly expect a lot of curves on someone who has the low bodyfat % of an Olympic athlete.

They certainly weren't tottering around the back of the heptathlon.. what an event!!

    Then there's Isinbayeva... Wow!

Sorry i should have been clearer. Obviously all athletes at olympics have exceptional genes but the likes of the female i posted above is more muscular than the Irish mens 400metre sprinters! I dont beleive it's possible for a woman to become so muscular naturally.

The heptathlon girls looked fantastic yesterday alright - I think they have really great physiques and (like all athletes) obviously put in a lot of work. Something for me to aim for with my sessions in the gym lol

    there called offaly women

as regards the olympic female athletes though , never seen such firm butts as in the athletics this yr and to those who claim there are no curvy ladies on show , that jamacian sister who won the 100m had plenty of junk in the trunk

when a black woman asks you if her butt looks big , you say YES

Oh, and speaking of heptathletes again... do a Google Image search for Denise Lewis, it's the ones where she has an apple speared on a javelin and is aparently wearing the UK kit from a few years ago.

They might be considered NSFW so you'll have to find them yourself, wish I was good with a paint brush though.

FFS. Sprinters, jumpers and dancers all have highly developed glutes. It's nothing to do with gender or race.

Yulia Nestsiarenka, from Belarus (former soviet state, where systemicatic doping was common ) who did nothing before or after Athens and question marks have to hang over her head.

The previous champion was systematically doping, too.

You are willfully missing the point.

Whether they dope or not, sprinters, jumpers and dancers have large gluteus maximus, i.e. big asses. Skin colour is irrelevant.

Any kind of explosive exercise will increase the size of the glutes. In anyone.

Yes but some ethnicities naturally are much more likely to have naturally muscular bodies (west Africans). To deny different ethnicities can and do have different body/muscle composition is farcical. East Africans have their own traits that make them so good at long distance events. Yes , your average white Irish guy will get bigger glutes with sprinting etc but on AVERAGE West Africans and those of west african origin have more muscle for power events and more of the right muscle fibres. A large butt on a black women is much more likely to be from large muscles/genetics than in an White person, This is why having a big butt is held in high regard in West African communites and those originating from west Africa while a big butt in white women is a bad thing and usually as a result of being overweight/fat.

Exactly, I did notice her butt, I thought it was large compared to the rest who were quite a bit slimmer. And shock, horror, I also noticed the Chinese gymnasts were quite short.

From reading the details of the various testings that were missed due to various links being posted up on the BBC 606 boards over the last day or so I think they were right to re-instate her.
