Unable to view DVD on projector

I'm having a slight problem. I have a HP nc6000 laptop with XP sp2 attached to an Infocus IN72 projector and I am unable to view DVD's through the projector. The movie plays on the laptops LCD but not through the projector. However the desktops image along with all other applications (MS office, the internet, etc,
etc...) are viewable through the projector. I see everything on the screen that I do on the laptop such as the WINDVD software, desktop icons, it’s just the movies playing that I cannot see on the screen. Where the move should be playing just stays black.
Any help with this issue would be appreciated.

This sound like the graphic card in your laptop cannot handle the playback of movies. If using E.g (Windows Mediaplayer) try updating the software, or maybe an update of the driver for your graphic card might help.

Had this problem before but cannot remember what I did to resolve it. Don't think its anything to do with the projector.

Thanks for your reply. The issue was with the WINDVD software. I got a copy of PowerDVD and used that to run the DVD and there was no problem.
