razorburn and electrical razor

I've always suffered from nasty post-shave razor burn(probably the reason why I didn't shave for over a year!).I finally decided to shave 2 days ago,and it looked and felt great afterwards. However, the following day,I woke up with the most irritating burn that i've ever had.I had used a mach 3 blade,"king of shaves" shaving foam and nivea shaving balm.

Im wondering whether or not I should shave with an electrical razor instead.Would it cause razor burn or not? Also,is it possible to get a good electrical razor for a reasonable price. Most of the the ones in the likes of Argos are priced at upwards of 150.

I just shave at night or in the evening. Saves me getting razor burn the next morning and means I can get another 2 minutes sleep in the morning.

I was having the same problem.

Used to shave every day in my late teens and early 20's but when i switched from a gillette sensor to the mach 3, i used to get awful razorburn or shaving rash. I cut down to shaving every 2nd day and got rid of the Mach 3, use the Wilkison Swords Green disposable ones that Andre Agassi advertised. I still got the odd rash but things were ok.

Then late last year it flared up again and on the advice of a friend started using the "Total Shaving Solution" and using a moisturiser after I shave and everything is fine now. Just dont get the total shaving solution in your eyes, stings like hell apparently.
